FAQs

We specialize in cultural routes that combine nature, history, and local traditions. These include:

  • The Camino de Santiago, a historic network of pilgrimage routes that lead to Santiago de Compostela.
  • Long-Distance Trails (GR), marked routes that cross natural and cultural landscapes, like the volcanic GR 131 in the Canary Islands or the mountainous GR 11 in the Pyrenees.

Choosing a route depends on your preferences, fitness level, and goals. Our route descriptions provide all the details you need, including:

  • Recommended stages: Suggested divisions for each route.
  • Daily distance: The number of kilometers you’ll walk each day.
  • Difficulty: Based on elevation and walking time.
  • Best season: Ideal time of year for the route.
  • Services available: Information about cafes, bars, laundries, and other facilities.
If you need help deciding, we’re here to assist you.

We offer three main formats for our trips:

  • Self-Guided: Walk at your own pace, with detailed maps, GPS tracks, and remote support.
  • Group Tours: For groups of three or more, with options for private or external guides and meal plans.
  • Custom Trips: Fully tailored to your preferences, including accommodations, stages, and extra services.

We specialize in cultural trips that combine nature, history, and local traditions. Based in Santiago de Compostela, we have grown up surrounded by pilgrims and have lived the essence of the Camino throughout our lives. This deep connection inspires us to preserve that spirit in every trip we organize.

Pets are allowed only on specific dog-friendly routes. Early notice is essential to arrange suitable accommodations and meet the necessary requirements (e.g., vaccination certificates). Availability for pet-friendly accommodations is limited.

This depends on the route and area. Some regions offer buses or taxis, but rural areas may have limited options. Contact us to help plan this option if needed.

In Basic or Standard accommodations, you won’t need a sleeping bag as all bedding is provided. For stays in large hostels or shelters, a lightweight sleeping bag may be useful.

For medical emergencies, dial 112.

We highly recommend travel insurance that covers:

  • Medical expenses.
  • Emergency transport.
  • Other unforeseen incidents.
  • Carry some cash for small expenses, particularly in rural areas where cards may not be accepted.
  • Check that your bank card works abroad and review withdrawal limits for local ATMs.

We assess route difficulty using the IBP Index methodology, a standardized system that measures the physical demand of a trail. This system analyzes key factors such as:

  • Distance: The total kilometers of the route.
  • Elevation gain and loss: The total ascent and descent over the course of the walk.
  • Maximum and minimum altitude: Helps determine terrain difficulty.
  • Steepness of slopes: The incline percentage impacts walking difficulty.
  • Distribution of effort: How physical demand varies throughout the route.

By default, we assume that the traveler has a medium level of fitness. If you have lower or higher fitness levels, this assumption may affect how you perceive the difficulty of the route.

After evaluating each stage, the most challenging stage determines the overall difficulty of the route.
